Bill Olson Inducted into MN Wrestling Hall of Fame

Minnesota Wrestling has announced Mr. Bill Olson as it's newest inductee into the MN Wrestling Hall of Fame!

A little background on Bill Olson:

Graduate of LeRoy-Ostrander High School  (1976).  3 sport athlete and a 6 year letter winner in wrestling.  District champ and a state participant in 1976.  Bill wrestled 4 years in college 2 at Waldorf Junior College and 2 at Winona State University finishing in 1980.  Bill received a teaching and coaching degree at WSU.  Bill taught for a couple years and then went in a different direction.  Bill is now a union painter/vinyl hanger working in the Mayo Clinic in Rochester.

Bill has been a wrestling official in Minnesota for 28 years, part of the Southern Minnesota Wrestling Officials Association, he presently serves as the treasure.  Bill has been very active in helping at the youth level officiating and recruiting officials for the NYWA Tourney.  Bill is very proud to have served as the Head Official of The Clash Wrestling Tournament for several years.  Bill helps with rule interpretations, weigh ins, and most importantly the recruiting and retaining of officials from all over the United States.  He is pleased to say many of these officials and out of state coaches have become very good friends.

Bill has been chosen to work the state tournament 20 times.  He has been the recipient of MSHSL Distinguish Service Award for officials and been inducted into the Region One Hall of Fame.

Bill has been married to his wife Bobbi for 33 years and has 3 children, twins Brady and Breanna and Brittlyn.
